Personal Stories Display

Our Personal Stories display cabinet has memorabilia and stories about 5 individuals who served in WWII. These men served in the following positions.

  1. A P-51 pilot in the Pacific with one confirmed Zero shot down.
  2. A B-17 pilot who was a member of the British Goldfish Club because he was fished out of the English Channel after ditching his B-17.
  3. Another B-17 pilot who survived a crash landing in England but was later shot down and was in a German POW Camp.
  4. A Grumman TBF Avenger Torpedo Bomber pilot who served on the aircraft carrier USS Lexington and who was lost during a training flight in 1943 in the Hawaiian waters.
  5. A Merchant Marine seaman who served on cargo ships during the war.
